May 10th: Mother’s Day
Weird to think that because of the shelter-in-place order, one of our big holidays had us busier than ever…sorry for the day late folks!
Happy (Belated) Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers out there. You are all the real MVP’s out there, now more than ever. To all the moms that have become teachers, caring for their households, calling the kids who are living their own lives, and taking care of those who are unable to care for themselves. From me to you, thank you!
I want to celebrate my mother, Stacey Wright, for all the hard work she’s done over the many years.
Mother to three rowdy boys and wife to a hardworking professional in the film industry, my mom is a rockstar. She’s constantly striving to do good in the world, be in with the kiddos at the schools in Burbank, to making the drive up to Santa Clarita to be with her mom when she’s not feeling 100% in today’s climate. She’s always putting others first, wanting to be the best host she can be, providing drinks and being the party animal for New Years, to prepping coffee and breakfast for the hangover that follows.
What I love about my mom, what I appreciate the most, is that she’s always supportive and always willing to listen. And this is not just for me, my brothers, or my dad. She does this for anybody and everybody. We joke that she “knows everybody,” and always seems to run into someone she knows when she’s out and about. She was at every track meet, every graduation, and helped me moved in and out of every place I’ve lived. I have put her through the ringer and somehow, she continues to show up and help when I need it most. Especially now, during the coronavirus wedding season pandemic, she’s been willing and able to help out anyway she can.
She did (and still does) what every mother does; love her kids, support them through thick and thin, listen, advise, and care. Her kids are spread out now, with two of them out and about and one more ready to bounce out of the house.
Today (well, yesterday) is her day, and I was able to celebrate her from quarantine away. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom! I love you very much.
